Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu is a martial art based on grappling and ground fighting focusing on the skill of controlling an opponent through techniques that force one to submit. The “gentle art” allows a weaker person to use leverage and submissions to defend themselves. With origins in Judo and Japanese Jujutsu, BJJ is one of the most effective self defense fighting systems on the planet. Virtually anyone can learn Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. In addition to the benefit of self-defense, BJJ sharpens the mind, builds character, and promotes continuous self improvement. It’s also a great workout!
Adult Jiu-Jitsu (All Levels)
Led by Black Belt Clay Burwell, most HPG BJJ classes are offered in the traditional Gi style and provide the opportunity for live sparring and Q&A.
Adult NoGi Jiu-Jitsu (All Levels)
Students will have the opportunity to learn the same modern Jiu-Jitsu being taught in the Gi classes, but learn to adapt them to NoGi situations.
Youth Jiu-Jitsu (Ages 6-16)
Several Youth BJJ classes are offered weekly and include all levels from beginners to advanced. Curriculum includes interactive drills to teach Jiu-Jitsu movements and techniques to ensure a strong foundation. Instructors also promote core values through easy-to-follow methods.
